Magnificent absinthe liquor is the king of alcohol beverages. It is this green drink which made all liquors look small, since it owns high alcohol concentration than any other. With lots of blended herbs it does prove out to be a value-added quality drink. But sadly the image of absinthe drinks was tarnished intentionally in the history and it was made a scapegoat. Also it was held responsible for some social problems which ultimately came out be false. However it took several decades for banned absinthe alcohol to receive a rebirth in Europe and United States of America. The reasons which caused the collapse of absinthe fame are as follows.

• Absinthe drinks popularity led group of people to become envy of this remarkable liquor, especially the market competitors. Besides the market share of absinthe beverages was dynamically growing at a much faster rate. The demand was great and quality absinthe supply was less, so some producers started distilling absinthe cheap by adding inferior substances. Mixing of chemicals along with dyes did enhance the greenish appearance as well as, louche effect to an extent. This phenomenon was taken as an advantage by greedy producers in order to earn fast bucks. Many reputed or renowned distillers realized this absinthe danger and therefore demanded for regulatory provisions to safeguard the interest. Yet by the time proper measures could be implemented, the press got absinthe image blemished.
• Another eyesore (threat) was in the form of low sales of wine and brandy. People appreciated absinthe drinks and even loved it more than other beverages. The winemakers were badly hit by the escalated absinthe sales. As a result they exercised their influence in the government to get absinthe beverages banned.
• Further to add more fuel to the fire, there was an anti-alcohol campaign citing the social troubles. The government blamed absinthe alcohol on behalf of its high alcohol content and imposed a ban. Hence it is clear and obvious that absinthe liquor was made a sacrificial element to benefit others.
• To add to the woes, serious crimes were related to absinthe alcohol. For example - The media or press in Switzerland reported absinthe drinks as culprits for heinous crimes. Few such incidents led to outburst of bad public opinion due to negative portraying of absinthe liquors.
• Fortunately with the modern consumer’s appreciation along with grand comeback, old is gold surely holds true with absinthe drinks.
